PURPOSE:

The City is seeking proposals from qualified firms to design and deliver bilingual (English and French) governance and ethics training for City of Moncton Municipal Elected Officials. The objective is to ensure Council members understand their statutory obligations, ethical duties, codes of conduct, open meeting rules, access to information and privacy obligations, and records management responsibilities. Training will be tailored to New Brunswick legislation and the City"s by-laws and policies.

Applicable legislation and resources include, without limitation: Local Governance Act (including Part 6 - Council Meetings and Part 8 - Conflict of Interest), the Code of Conduct Regulation under the Local Governance Act, the Right to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (RTIPPA), the Public Records Act and Archives Act, provincial guidance on records and information management (including the Municipal Records Authority for New Brunswick), and the City"s Official Languages policy.
