Description

The Project is for two (2) years (2026-2027) of road and parking lot maintenance at McKinnon Flats during the open season (April 16th to October 31st). McKinnon Flats is located 18 km south of Langdon along the Bow River and is open to vehicle access from April 16th to October 31st and foot access year round. It is a popular recreation site for angling, boat launching and loading, mountain biking, and day trips. Heavy use of the access road, particularly by loaded boat trailers, results in continued degradation and washboarding of the road. Continued grading is required to maintain the road and provide continued access to the site. The overflow parking lots requires minor grading throughout the year to prevent vegetation overgrowth and to maintain site functionality.
