Description

Scope of Work/Overview:
The intent of this project is to install two (2) new all-access washrooms at the Canadian Grain Commission building on the 1st floor in the space previously occupied by Lolly"s Café.
Requirements for all-access washrooms are provided in a document published by Accessibility Standards Canada and, CSA/ASC B651 Accessible Design for the Built Environment. Section 6.2 - Washroom Facilities and Section 6.3 - Universal Washrooms, outline standards associated with (but not limited to), minimum area allowances, luminance requirements, dimensions (heights, widths, lengths, and depths), and many other specifications according to local code compliance. The design should incorporate energy/water efficiency practices such as LED lighting, occupancy sensors, low-flow fixtures (toilets, faucets) touchless IR faucets, and ventilation requirements for exhaust fans, specific locations and quantities to be determined through design phase according to accessibility requirements. Demolition of existing area that was previously Lolly"s Cafe as well as removal of all materials to provide clean workspace for new construction to begin. During demo and construction phase, hazardous material considerations are to be taken.
