Notice of Intent to Award a Contract

Notice is hereby given that the City of Abbotsford (the “City”) is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Urben Blu (the “Supplier”) for the following:

• Supply and Delivery of One (1) Urben Blu Double Restroom ADA 8’11”X22’4” prefabricated washroom
• Background
  
  The City of Abbotsford park amenities program delivers washrooms (and other amenities) to existing neighbourhood and community parks enhancing user experience. Serviced washrooms in neighbourhood parks offer a wide range of social and environmental benefits including public health and hygiene, enhanced accessibility and inclusion and improved visitor experience.
  
  Clearbrook Park is a well-utilized community asset and serves as a central hub for the fastball community, regularly hosting games and seasonal tournaments. To ensure the continued success of these events and to support the needs of participants and spectators, the provision of serviced washroom facilities during the ball season is essential.
  
  Rationale for Contemplating a Direct Award
  
  The City is contemplating a direct award with the Supplier as the Urben Blu prefabricated washroom model will meet the specific lead time and needs found at Clearbrook Park. Timely delivery and installation to accommodate a condensed project timeline are the key driver for this procurement.
  
  Justification
  
  Optimal ground conditions in early spring present the most environmentally responsible window for the installation of serviced washroom facilities therefore these facilities must be delivered and fully operational on-site no later than April 15, 2026. Urben Blu has confirmed its capacity to meet the project’s schedule and deliver the washroom unit to the City of Abbotsford site on or before April 15, 2026.
