Description

The purpose of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to establish a list of qualified General Contractors (“Proponents”) who are capable of providing construction services for district energy (DE) distribution piping systems, including both underground and bridge-mounted installations within the City of North Vancouver.

Qualified Proponents will have proven experience executing complex civil, mechanical, and structural work in urban environments under strict safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Lonsdale Energy is expecting to release multiple projects over the next 12 – 36 months to be fulfilled by pre-qualified contractors arising from the RFQ. The projects will help to expand Lonsdale Energy’s distribution capacity significantly, joining new energy centres in Harbourside and the Marine-Hamilton Neighbourhoods with other parts of the system in Lower Lonsdale.

The projects in question cover approximately 500m of DE piping to be installed both above ground, attached to adjacent structures, and below ground in a conventional cut and fill trench. The work will involve crossing CN rail corridors and sensitive stream habitats. Crossings where obtaining and complying with permits will be of the upmost importance.
