Description

Full fire separation repairs for all six (6) storeys, a full basement and two (2) rooftop service penthouses (mechanical and elevator) – seal all known and accessible penetrations within the wall, ceiling and floor systems which are identified as being fire separations while making the fires separations code compliant. As well as replace or upgrade doors and windows where existing installations have insufficient fire ratings and creating new partitions where existing layout does not meet code requirements. The deficiencies of the current fire separation system pose potential health and safety hazards to occupants and damage to a Classified Federal Heritage Building. The project aims to provide a long-term solution that meets current National Building Code and National Fire Code requirements, while respecting the building’s heritage values and conserving its character-defining elements.

All individual attending the site visit must bring their own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)

Bidders are advised that there will be an OPTIONAL site visit to be held on the date and times specified within the item 2.6.15. A maximum of two representatives of each Bidder, or its authorized representative or authorized representatives, are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit. Attendees will meet the BGIS representative at sign in desk of the 457 Richmond Street, London, ON in the main lobby. Bidders are advised that they must preregister via email, and on behalf of their authorized representative or their authorized representatives including sub-contractors, to the procurement specialist crystal.yan@bgis.com before October 7, 2025 4PM to be authorized to access the site. Failure to register may result in the Bidder’s representative(s) being refused access to the site. For mandatory site visits, Bidders are only required to attend one scheduled site visit to be eligible to bid. Bidders will be notified of any changes to the date of the site visit by Addenda. Bidders cannot use a representative from another Bidder as its authorized representative to attend the site visit.
