To address targeted repairs as per IAR GOC990395 Exterior Cladding Repairs of Block A, Block B and the retaining wall along Sussex, including but not limited to: Rotten wooden trims below the soffit. Missing or deteriorated window sills. Exposed rebar at base of cladding by the entrance doors. Local failed mortar joints. Missing stones, damaged stones and deteriorated mortar joints in the stone wall along Sussex Avenue and St. Andrew Street. All items included in the IAR for GOC990395 to be included in the work. Project to use the IAR from GOC990395 as basis to begin design. This building is a Classified Federal Heritage Building. Protection of the building’s heritage character is identified in the Treasury Board Policy on the Management of Real Property. Any proposed interventions should follow an approach of minimal intervention and should take into account the Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places (2010). Preservation of the existing materials and the overall appearance and character of the building must be maintained to the best of the contractor"s ability under the consultant’s guidance to avoid further degrading the asset.

All individuals attending the site visit must bring their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: safety shoes/boots, safety vests, hard hats etc. Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site. Valid ID is required for this job walk.

Failure of a Proponent to attend a mandatory Site Visit, properly register, sign the BGIS Site Visit Sign-In Sheet and remain present for the duration of the Site Visit will entitle BGIS in its sole discretion to reject such Proponent’s Bid.
