The Province is seeking to engage a Contractor with demonstrated experience in deploying IBM OpenPages and Cognos Analytics within multi-divisional environments. The selected Contractor will
collaborate with the Cybersecurity team to extend the implementation of these tools to an additional business unit. Together, they will co-develop a process and implementation plan that enables
the Cybersecurity team to independently onboard further business areas in the future.
A preliminary schedule has been established for the initial Contractor-led implementation involving the first business area. This phase will serve as a foundational model to build internal
capacity within the Cybersecurity team, enabling the development of in-house expertise. The resulting implementation framework will be adapted and reused for subsequent business areas, taking
into account each area"s readiness, priority, and system dependencies.
Following this initial phase, the Cybersecurity team will lead the onboarding of approximately six to eight additional Government of Alberta (GoA) business areas. Each area presents unique
compliance and risk profiles but collectively contributes to centralized enterprise risk oversight. Where appropriate, business areas with lower complexity may be onboarded concurrently with
higher-priority areas undergoing phased implementation, in order to optimize resource utilization and accelerate the overall rollout.
To support this approach, it is expected that the Contractor-led implementation of the first business area and the co-development of the onboarding framework will be carried out in parallel.
This concurrent execution will ensure that the Cybersecurity team gains practical experience while the foundational framework is being established, thereby expediting readiness for subsequent
onboarding activities.
Additionally, as part of this broader initiative, the GoA anticipates upgrading to the latest version of Cognos Analytics to enhance both enterprise-wide and business-specific reporting
capabilities.
