The City of Lacombe is committed to enhancing community engagement and improving access to
information for residents, visitors, and local organizations. To achieve this, the City is pursuing the
development of a Community Connector Platform. This centralized, City-administered online resource
will aggregate community events and service listings in a single, accessible location. This platform will
address current gaps in information sharing, where event and service details are often fragmented across
multiple sources, creating barriers for those seeking timely and reliable information.
The Community Connector will serve as a modern, user-focused solution that simplifies how residents
and visitors discover what Lacombe has to offer. It will also provide community partners with a practical
and trusted tool to promote their events and services. Through this initiative, the City aims to foster
stronger connections within the community, increase participation in local activities, and enhance the
overall visibility of Lacombe’s cultural, recreational, and social landscape.
The proposed platform must be visually appealing, mobile and desktop accessible (without requiring an
app download), and equipped with advanced search and filtering capabilities to ensure users can quickly
find relevant events and services. Key features will include a dedicated URL, a tailored submission process
with administrative approval, user-friendly navigation, and strict adherence to municipal, provincial, and
federal regulations. The system must also support a City-controlled environment with minimal data
collection to ensure user privacy
