Description

In a joint effort between the Town of Strathmore (Owner) and EPCOR Utilities Inc. (Operator), this Request for Proposal is for the purpose of contracting engineering and design services for the decommissioning of the Brentwood reservoir. In 2022 ISL Engineering had undertaken an Engineering Study to further develop options presented in the 2020 Water Master Servicing Study (WMSS) for the decommissioning of the Brentwood Reservoir and managing the distribution system solely from the existing Wildflower Reservoir until the construction of a new Reservoir to the East of the Town (2040+). In accordance with the recommendations within the Water Master Servicing Study, and most recently the Wildflower Reservoir Engineering Study, the Town may decommission the aging Brentwood Reservoir after finalization of the Wildflower Reservoir Upgrades and feeder main upgrades. The decommissioning includes, but is not limited to: • Decommissioning of underground utilities o Closing off the water network entering the existing Brentwood Reservoir. o Protection of the water distribution system. • Demolition of the Brentwood Reservoir • Demolition of the Brentwood Pumphouse • Demolition of the Accessory Building(s) • Remediation of site to a brownfield parcel which could be developed in the future if desired.
