Description

Calgary Economic Development (CED) is seeking a partner to conduct a Life Sciences Sector Study that will inform future decisions from CED and partners to support the future needs and workplan needed for the development of the sector.

We invite qualified firms to submit a proposal, and the selected consultant is expected to provide: • Key drivers and trends, growth projections and a SWOT analysis of Calgary’s key subsectors;
• Jurisdictional analysis of similar life science hubs that Calgary can learn from;
• Subsector analysis into oncology and animal health;
• Opportunity analysis that includes looking at the ecosystem, clinical trial positioning, investment, and cross-sector synergies; and
• Recommendations on areas of focus for Calgary in building out its life sciences sector.

CED works collaboratively with business, government, and community partners to position Calgary as the ideal location for business attraction, investment, and innovation. It is imperative that Calgary continues to build intelligence that will identify how we enable sector growth.
