Description

The Guysborough District Business Partnership (GDBP) in partnership with the Municipality of the District of Guysborough (MODG), are seeking proposals for the development of a comprehensive revitalization plan of the Shiretown/Waterfront area of Guysborough. This plan will assess the options for re-envisioning the area from the Guysborough Memorial Hospital (located at 10560 Highway 16, Guysborough) to the Chedabucto Shopping Center (located at 10016 Highway 16, Guysborough) and all areas/streets in between; including the waterfront area situated on Main Street; a gap assessment and complimentary review of the Canso Community Enhancement Plan completed in 2021; and possible consolidation of the two if necessary. This plan aims to revitalize the downtown area, present the conditions for future economic growth, preserve cultural heritage, improve infrastructure, and revitalize vibrant community spirit.
