Description

The Cowichan Tribes (the “Nation”) is taking steps to update the landscaping around its Administration offices located at 5760 Allenby Road, Duncan. The Nation is seeking to engage private sector firms with experience and proven capacity to deliver landscape design, project
management, and construction supervision services.

This request for proposals (RFP) has been issued to evaluate prospective firms with demonstrated capacity to assemble a team of professionals to complete the design of the parking lot and soft and hard landscape, prepare tender documents and project manage construction of the project.

The project falls within Cowichan Tribes Administration office site where a majority of our employees work. The buildings were constructed in the early 1990’s for the Administration employees at the time. Over the past 10 years, as the Administration has built up its organizational structure and have outgrown our parking lot as well as landscaped areas surrounding our offices.

The Nation is looking to have the outdoor space and parking lot redesigned to include improved traffic flow, increased parking spaces, improved pedestrian walkways and outdoor space for visitors and employees to enjoy with improved landscaping that is drought and animal resistant as well as easy to maintain.

The Cowichan Tribes is seeking proposals for a landscape architectural team to provide for design, tendering, and construction project management services to construct the parking lot, hard and soft landscape, and irrigation. This project will require a Proponent with a team
experienced in working with geotechnical and civil engineers, landscapers, irrigation specialists and project management given the significant works required for this project.
