The purpose of the Kinuso Flood Study is to assess and identify flood hazards along approximately 21 km of the Swan River through the community of Kinuso, Big Lakes County, and Swan River First
Nation. The study will be completed under the provincial Flood Hazard Identification Program (FHIP), the goals of which include enhancement of public safety and reduction of future flood
damages through the identification of flood hazards.
Hydraulic modelling and flood mapping is required for approximately 21 km of the Swan River. The study area for the Swan River extends from the south edge of NE 1-73-10-W5M downstream to
approximately the middle of SE 31-73-9-W5M.
