Description

Notice of Intent to Award a Contract

Notice is hereby given that the City of Abbotsford (the “City”) is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Stork Pompen (the “Supplier”) for the following:

• Parts Supply and Engineering Services for the Overhaul and Reconditioning of 4 Stork BSV 200 drainage pumps located at the Barrowtown Pump station.
• Background
  
  The November 2021 extreme weather event has caused flooding in various parts of the City, and most notably the widespread flooding in the Sumas Prairie, due to the Nooksack River overflow from Whatcom County in the United States of America.
  
  As part of the post disaster recovery, the City had engaged the services of Stork Pompen (“STORK”), to assist with condition assessments of the four (4) Stork Engineered BSV 200 drainage pumps located at the Barrowtown Pump Stations. During the flooding event the pumps were ran at or near full capacity for several weeks causing potential damage and excessive wear. Upon completing the condition assessments Stork Pompen has provided a proposal for the supply of parts and Engineering services to assist and oversee the overhaul and reconditioning of the pumps.
  
  Scope of Services
  
  The scope of the required services generally consists of the following:
  
• Project Preparation
• Pump Disassembly
• Inspection of Pump Parts
• Pump Parts Repairs (As needed)
• Pump assembly
• As the manufacturer of the pumps Stork employees will oversee and ensure the correct disassembly and re-assembly of the pumps with OEM specified parts.
