         Die TIWAG-Tiroler Wasserkraft AG plant die Errichtung eines Wasserkraftwerkes am Tauernbach oberhalb der Marktgemeinde Matrei in Osttirol. Das Kraftwerk Tauernbach-Gruben ist als Ausleitungskraftwerk, mit einer Ausbauwassermenge von 9,0 m³/s und einer installierten Leistung von 29 MW konzipiert.

         Für dieses Projekt werden zwei Generatoren mit einer vertikalen Welle für direkte, starre Kupplung mit dem Turbinen-Laufrad (freifliegend) benötigt.
