The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD), part of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, has a requirement for a new Containerised Medical Facility (CMF) to replace its existing CMF.

1.2. The CMF is used to supplement medical capacity on chartered vessels, that do not meet standards required by the AAD’S Polar Medicine Unit (PMU). A secondary function of the CMF, is that it may be placed on one of the AAD’s Research Stations in the Antarctic or Sub-Antarctic in an emergency, to supplement or replace the existing medical facilities (e.g. in the event of catastrophic failure of an existing facility).

Reporting to the AAD Project Lead, the Supplier will manage the project through CMF design, construction, certification, delivery and commissioning by a CMF Design, Fabrication and Warranty Service Supplier. The Project Manager will also make recommendations for the AAD’s consideration, regarding warranty service processes post commissioning as part of change management responsibilities of the CMF Project Manager.

Timeframe for Delivery:

It is anticipated that the CMF will be delivered and commissioned by 20 June 2025
