The Council area consists of 2 Parliamentary Constituencies - Warrington North and Warrington South, 22 Borough Wards, 18 Parish Councils with 42 Parish Wards. Warrington is within the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner Area.

The Councils election cycle is all out Borough and Parish elections every 4 years and the next all out elections are scheduled for 2024

The contract will initially be for a period of 5 years with the potential for 5 further extensions of 1 year
