Newry, Mourne and Down District Council wish to refurbish the existing Newry Townhall and extend the current accommodation (c1700m2) by demolishing and redeveloping the redundant Sean Hollywood Arts Centre (SHAC) and No.2 Bank Parade.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement

The new, purpose-built theatre/conference (in place of the SHAC and No.2 Bank Parade) will be c.2850m2, provide a 250-seat auditorium with ancillary spaces to include dressing rooms, studio space, café etc and be connected to the existing, Grade B1 Listed Newry Town Hall by a full height glazed link building. The redevelopment will be supplemented a public realm with new external ‘performance’ space which is to be located to the rear of the new theatre building.
