AGRICULTURE MODERNIZATION PROJECT WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF WORLD BANK

Assignment Title: Assistant to International advisor (consultant) on establishment of turnkey intensive orchards and vineyards: Irrigation and Trellis system specialist

The International Centre for Food and Agriculture Strategic Development and Research under the Ministry of Agriculture (furthermore – Centre) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Agriculture Modernization Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The consulting services (“the Services”) include the Assistant to International Advisor on establishment of turnkey intensive orchards and vineyards: Irrigation and Trellis system specialist to achieve the goals of the concept in the framework of the Agriculture Modernization Project.

The Centre now invites Individual Consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are:

• presence of at least 5 years of scientific and practical experience similar to the TOR in the implementation of irrigation systems of modern intensive orchards and viticultural projects.
• experience as an international consultant in horticulture projects.
• presence of work experience in foreign countries, corresponding to the natural and soil-climatic conditions of Uzbekistan.
• experience in irrigation and trellis system applications of orchards and vineyards in Central Asian countries is an advantage.

A consultant must provide (minimum three) evidence of the required experience by providing the appropriate certificates and recommendations to the Agency for implementation of the projects in the field of agroindustry and food security.

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 3.16 and 3.17 of the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers – Procurement in Investment Project Financing Goods, World, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services, July 2016 (“the Regulations”) setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Open Competitive Selection of Individual Consultants as set out in the Regulations.
