Aviation Universal Charger
This special notice is to inform vendors of an existing Request for Solutions (RFS). The purpose of this RFS is to solicit innovative proposals for fieldable, deployable, functional way to maintain, analyze, charge, and discharge the legacy and future aviation batteries. The Government will evaluate the solutions with the intent of awarding a Project Order under the Expeditionary Missions Consortium (EMC2) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) in accordance with 10 U.S.C. § 4022.
BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY
Vendors interested in responding to this RFS must be members of the (EMC2). Interested parties should visit emccrane.org for membership information. This project will be managed by a
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division Project Manager. The RFS released via the weblink listed above for EMC2 on 8 August 2024.
A three year approach is preferred. The first year takes the project through preliminary design review and closeout. This first phase should include identifying the necessary requirements and designing a universal aviation charger. The government team will identify many of the necessary requirements in the Statement of Need. It is expected the Government and the vendor will collaborate in this first phase. The second year ends with critical design review and close out. This second year should include finalizing the design and limited testing along with providing at least one prototype. Third year is prototypes and testing.
