Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. SOURCES SOUGHT DESCRIPTION This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a RFI only. The purpose of this RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 334516 (size standard of 1000 Employees). Responses to this RFI will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this RFI, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this RFI synopsis are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 22 Network Contracting Office, is seeking sources that can provide a Spectrophotometer (fluorescence and absorbance spectrometer) for detection of antibodies in the tumor cells of mice that at a minimum meets the following salient characteristics with a brand name or equal product for the VA San Diego Healthcare System: The equipment must have both absorbance and fluorescence capabilities that can be performed independently and simultaneously. The equipment must be capable of detecting fluorescence wave lengths from 250 to 1,100 nm. The equipment must be capable of detecting excitation and absorbance wave lengths from 250 to 1,000 nm. The equipment must allow the user to program for the filtering of wavelengths. The equipment must be capable of transmitting the results of antibody conjugation test to a computer. The software/program used to display the result must be capable of displaying them in a 3-dimensional format. The contractor must provide a laptop that will be used to display test results. The software/program required to view and analyze test results must be pre-installed on the computer. The equipment must have a charge coupled device (CCD). The equipment must be compliant with FDA requirements for laboratory equipment used for animal testing. The contractor shall provide technical support and on-site training on an as-needed basis. Interested parties of RFI must be an authorized reseller, distributor, or dealer of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Verification can be provided by an authorization letter or other documents from the OEM. Equipment shall be in accordance with the OEM terms and conditions.
