SOURCES SOUGHT This is a Sources Sought Only: This is not request for bids, or proposals. This is a Sources Sought Notice for the identification of potential vendors capable of providing
Entryway Ferrous Metal Detectors for the Durham Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, 508 Fulton Street, Durham, NC 27705, in the near future. The purpose of this notice is to gain
knowledge of potential qualified sources and their business size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged, small veteran owned, or service-disabled veteran owned small
business) relative to NAICS 334519, Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing and the Size Standard of 600 employees. Consistent with Public Law 109-461 VAs Veterans First
Contracting Program , first priority would be given to Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) and Small Business (SB) concerns,
should there be sufficient firms available to compete under a set aside if the requirement goes to solicitation. If insufficient veteran owned and small business response is received to
establish the basis for setting this action aside for other than large business participation, then the action will be advertised as full and open competition, in which case, all
interested parties responding shall be eligible to quote. Responses to this sources sought notice should include the following: name and address of company, business size (large or
small): Please identify your companies socioeconomic categories- 8(a), HUBZone, Services Disabled Veteran-Owned/Veteran-Owned Small Business, other small, small or large. If you are an
SDVOSB, VOSB or small business and plan on subcontracting, please provide a plan to show how your company will provide 50% of the work being performed. Also, provide a brief description
of qualifications and any other pertinent information which demonstrates the ability to meet the above requirement. Potential vendors should be capable of supplying the following salient
characteristics: Must detect ferrous metals Must be installed without construction Must have audible and visible alarm with positive threat Vendor must complete installation of detectors
System must include all necessary hardware and accessories Keeps record of any incidents with tablet Keeps record/log of any devices that enter/near the room Two-way communication link
with camera and monitor Capable of providing the exact location on the body where any implants/metal is found Tri-Colored LED Indicators Radar like sensing to determine the speed and
direction of a ferrous item such as steel, cast iron, alloys, irons and other metals to avoid potential threats for early detection Amorphous sensing Threat directional change detection
Status of door s position Dynamic Signal Processing Minimize false alarms Vendor complete installation of detectors System must include all necessary hardware and accessories Again, all
respondents shall submit capability statement signifying that they meet the above-mentioned specifications. The capability statements received from this market research survey are for
planning purposes only and will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy. This is strictly market research, and the Government will not entertain questions concerning
this market research survey. The Government will not assume any costs incurred by the contractor in the preparation of responses. All responses shall be submitted in the form of email to
