Remote Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Robotic Drill
This special notice is to inform vendors of an upcoming Request for Solutions (RFS). This RFS will be issued to address the need of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division who is seeking solutions to prototype novel EOD remote drilling robot that is man portable, and man emplaced with the capability to perform drilling on a variety of targets. The Government will evaluate the solutions with the intent of awarding an Other Transaction (OT) agreement in accordance with 10 U.S. Code § 4022.
Vendors interested in responding to this RFS must be members of the Expeditionary Missions Consortium - Crane (EMC2) consortium. Interested parties may visit emccrane.org for membership information. This project will be managed by a NSWC Crane Division Project Manager. The RFS is anticipated to be released via the weblink listed above for EMC2 on or around 19 June 2024. In addition to this Special Notice on SAM.gov, the EMC2 consortium manager will notify all consortium members of the upcoming RFS on or around the same time this notice is published to SAM.gov.
NSWC Crane Division is seeking solutions to prototype novel EOD remote drilling robot that is man portable, and man emplaced with the capability to perform drilling on a variety of targets. The ability for the EOD Robot to be man portable and man emplaced, while retaining the ability to drill multiple holes on a variety of targets remotely will increase the warfighter’s survivability during EOD operations. This includes the need for processes, people, and technologies to achieve mission objectives. Current technology does not meet the size, weight, and power requirements or remote capability required for modern EOD operations.
