Background: The C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center deems this equipment necessary for Urology procedures. This is used for percutaneous management of kidney stones and consists of cones, telescopes, dilators, sheaths, sealant applicators, forceps, and accessories. This scope set is analogous to using having different sized cystoscopes and resectoscopes. It will allow a smaller access site with decreased risk of bleeding and complications. It will also reduce hospital length of stay and increase possibility of being discharged without nephrostomy drainage tube.
