APEX Accelerators are an official government contracting resource for small businesses. Find your local APEX Accelerator (opens in new window) for free government expertise related to contract opportunities.
APEX Accelerators are funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Department of Defense.
The APEX Accelerators program was formerly known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (opens in new window) (PTAP).
Description:
Lawrence Livermore National Security (LLNS) requests information from laser manufacturers on current or near-current production capabilities for producing a 200-joule-class 1053-nm laser system capable of producing full energy pulses meeting specified beam quality at least once per minute and suitable to frequency conversion to the third harmonic. LLNS specifically seeks production capabilities able to meet the requirements listed in Table 1 “Laser System Requirements”.
LLNS invites information on meeting these requirements in either of the following two categories:
Categories A and B provide different costs and benefits to LLNS. LLNS invites information on manufacturers who have capabilities in either or both categories.
The delivered information should include the following:
1. A list of current production capabilities for each requirement. Even if those capabilities fail to reach the requirement, discussion of how the requirement could be reached or relaxed is solicited.
2. A system description including:
a. Total system dimensions, weight, power, and external cooling requirements
b. A subsystem description including electrical, thermal, and optical subsystems.
c. An optical subsystem description including laser architecture.
d. Estimated delivery lead time per subsystem.
3. Notional cost and lead time.
