Request for Information (RFI)

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), which manages and operates portions of the Savannah River Site (SRS) under a Department of Energy (DOE) prime contract, solicits expressions of interest from potential suppliers with a background in design and fabrication of an electrically powered catalytic oxidation unit.

This RFI is issued to assist with finding potential suppliers interested in this solicitation.

The SRS is located approximately 15 miles south of Aiken, South Carolina and is 310 contiguous square miles.

Scope Summary: Provide labor, materials, and services required for the design, fabrication, inspection, testing, documentation, delivery, installation support, and technical startup support of one electrically powered catalytic oxidation unit.

An electrically powered catalytic oxidation unit is needed to treat a wet vapor stream with a flow rate of 2000 actual cubic feet per minute (acfm) that contains approximately 30 parts per million by volume (ppmv) of tetrachlorethylene (PCE) and 20 ppmv of trichlorethylene (TCE). The catalytic oxidation unit must achieve a minimum destruction removal efficiency of 95% for both PCE and TCE. The catalytic oxidation unit will operate outdoors in an area with high humidity and a wide range of ambient temperatures. The catalytic oxidation unit shall be provided with interlocks to provide safe shutdown of the unit to insure safe operation.

A suppliers response to the RFI does not guarantee they will be selected to participate in the Request for Proposal (RFP).

Suppliers responding to this RFI shall include evidence of the following:

1. Supplier capability statement/personnel qualifications
2. Standard lead time for design, fabrication, and delivery of one electrically powered catalytic oxidation unit.
3. Past performance relative to subject scope. Please provide three examples of previous projects which designed and fabricated an electrically powered catalytic oxidation unit.
