This is a SOURCES SOUGHT notice to determine the capabilities of both small AND large business firms. Qualified companies, regardless of their size or socio-economic status, are encouraged to respond. Two or more small business firms capable of performing this work may help to guide the acquisition strategy and influence potential set-aside. Businesses are strongly encouraged to review this SOURCES SOUGHT and submit according to the directions in this notice.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Detroit District is seeking potential firms for the removal of dredged material from Erie Pier. The Erie Pier Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) is an 82-acre disposal facility located near 45th Avenue East in Duluth-Superior Harbor.

The goal of this project is the removal of fine-grained dredged material from specific locations in the Erie Pier CDF. Material to be transported is stockpiled at the CDF. Services include loading of dredged material, and hauling and delivery of material to several destinations within the local area and stockpiled for future use by others.

In addition, the contractor is required to obtain all permits necessary to transport the material as necessary.

Note that coordination may be required for pickup and delivery. For pickup, the access road to the CDF site is being used by other contractors and coordination may be necessary in order to access the material for loading. The contractor is responsible for labor, material, and equipment for loading, hauling, and unloading material (i.e. excavators, dump trucks, etc.) For delivery, coordination may be required with the receiving entity for offloading at the delivery site. No earthwork, leveling, or landscaping is anticipated for this requirement.

The Government will not be maintaining an interested vendors list.
