Notice of Intent to Sole Source

The 60th Cotracting Squadron at Travis Air Force Base, CA has the intent to award a sole source contract for Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) Probes to United Western Technologies Corp. IAW the guidance of FAR 13.106(b) Soliciting from a Single Source. Established protocol has identified these specific parts and kit as the only approved option for working with the KC-46 aircraft.

The KC-46 Main and Nose Wheel Probe kit P/N 101155 includes probe P/N UW900MX-KC-46and P/N UW900NX-KC-46. It also includes reference standards P/N UW900MSTD-KC-46 and P/NUW1900NSTD-KC-46. This kit and part number probes are the only NDI Level III and engineering approved equipment available for use on the KC-46 aircraft. Use of any other type of probe would be against current guidance.

This is a notice of the intent to award a sole source contract. It is published for informational purposes only and not as a request for competitive quotations. Therefore, no solicitation document exists for this requirement. No responses to the notice of intent to sole source are anticipated, however, all quotations/responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
