THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE – THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT’S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE-SOURCE AWARD TO LEIDOS SECURITY DETECTION & AUTOMATION, INC. FOR FULL-BODY SCANNER EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE SERVICES.

Mission Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Fort Leavenworth, KS intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price award for Full-Body Scanner Equipment Maintenance Services to Leidos Security Detection & Automation, Inc., 1 Radcliff Rd, Tewksbury, Massachusetts 01876-1181 (SAM Unique Entity ID: FG7CGCHSNML9, CAGE: 1VGC6).

The United States Disciplinary Barracks and Joint Regional Correction Facility under the Military Corrections Command require Screening Equipment Maintenance Services, which are proprietary to Leidos Security Detection & Automation, Inc. The two full-body scanners are located at Fort Leavenworth, KS.

The contractor shall provide Preventative Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance and provide Service Call Reports for two each Leidos L3 Body Scanners for one Base Period and four Option Years.

Leidos Security Detection &Automation, Inc. has the capability to meet all preventive and corrective maintenance services because they are the sole manufacturer and distributor of their products, and the software used to interface with these products is proprietary to them. They are the only company authorized to maintain its specialized equipment, and do not authorize other manufacturers and service providers to perform maintenance or software upgrades to the machines.

This procurement will be issued in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The NAICS code utilized for this procurement is 811210 – Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance with a Small Business Size Standard of $34 Million. The PSC code is J063 – Maintenance / Repair / Rebuild of Equipment – Alarm, Signal and Security Detection Systems. These are commercial services with a dollar value under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold.
