The Fleet Readiness Center Procurement Group Patuxent River, MD 20650 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Ultra Electronics Ice, Inc. (Cage Code:5Y111) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
The COMFRC Aviation Support Equipment Solomons, MD has a requirement for the evaluation and repair of Fuel Control Test Sets. Ultra Electronics ICE is the OEM to the equipment and components. Ultra Electronics ICE repair services are the only repair services that can meet operational and reliability requirements. Their services are the only services that can maintain configuration control throughout the repair process due to the uniqueness of the configurations of the Fuel Control Test sets. No other services can be used as it would require modifications to existing components, making Ultra Electronics ICE the only source that can meet the Governments specific requirements and mission. There are no distributors available as the manufacturer only directly sells to the Government and DOD. For this reason, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Ultra Electronics Ice, Inc. (Cage Code:5Y111).
THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within fifteen (15) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
