The U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM), Medical Readiness Contracting Office - East intends to award a sole source firm-fixed priced (FFP) contract to Steris Corporation to provide preventative maintenance and replace parts for Steris Sterilizers. This action is to provide all parts, equipment, labor, and travel to assess, troubleshoot during service calls, perform preventative maintenance and replace parts for government owned dental sterilizers. The Contractor shall perform these duties at the Kenner Health Clinic, Ft Lee, VA. No competition is being sought. The Government’s requirement can only be fulfilled by Steris Corporation because the equipment in need of service is proprietary to the vendor and the expertise of filed engineers is dependent on their familiarity of equipment, specific training, and resources. This is a special noticed prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 Synopses of Proposed Contact Actions. A solicitation will not be posted. However, any form that believes it can meet this requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 15 days of publication of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
