Purchase of Bod Pod GS-X with installation and training to replace current Bod Pod at the U.S. Army Facility, Camp Zama, Japan.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b), 374th Contracting Squadron, Yokota AB, Japan intends to issue a sole source firm-fixed price award under solicitation FA520923Q0037 to COSMED USA, INC. for upgrading an existing Bod Pod 2007A Analyzer, Physiologic, Body Composition for Army Wellness Center, Camp Zama, Japan.

COSMED USA, INC. (CAGE: 1TX50) is the only vendor capable of providing the upgrade package for Body Pod GS-X. Only COSMED USA, INC. can provide the upgrade software and hardware for this simulator. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR 13.106-1(b) (1)(i).

This notice is NOT a request for quote/proposal and no solicitation will be issued. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the product stated above. Deadline date for the submittals is 31 May 2023 at 1200 AM, Japan local time.

A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
