Statement of Need State Chemical Package Background: The Wilkes-Barre VAMC located at 1111 East end Blvd Wilkes-Barre PA. 18711 provides outpatient, inpatient, and skilled nursing services to veterans. History of the Requirement: This is a new requirement for our Environmental Management Service. We are looking to purchase Uline and Stronghold Storage cabinets and wardrobe cabinets. The new cabinets will be for storing the bulk of all laundry and linen items IE. Scrubs, pajamas, lab coats, patient clothing etc. The cabinets and wardrobes we are looking to purchase will greatly increase the productivity and sanitary conditions here in our Laundry Department by keeping the materials in covered locations, as well as keeping them organized for our monthly and annual inventories. They will ensure our Laundry Department is aesthetically pleasing rather than disheveled and unorganized. The request is for the ULINE and stronghold brand of cabinets to keep uniformity as these brands and exact cabinets are what we already own. Summary of the Requirement: The Wilkes-Barre VAMC has a need for this new requirement for the cabinets and wardrobes. They will be used withing the Laundry Department to keep laundry and linen items clean and organized the health and safety of our veterans, visitors, and staff. Sole Source Requirements: Unique characteristics: The need to have these specific cabinet, and wardrobes is that they currently match what we already have, most come pre-assembled, and the ones that do not come assembled we are experienced with assembling. Why we want these ULINE and Stronghold cabinets is for uniformity within the laundry and linen room as we already own these brands of cabinets.
