THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY for planning purposes to identify interested vendors for the requirement detailed below. A formal solicitation, performance work statement, and technical exhibits are not available for release at this time. In accordance with FAR 19.5, Set-Asides for Small Business, the Government will review the information requested in this announcement to determine the type of set-aside (if any) for this requirement.

The US Geological Survey (USGS), Wetland and Aquatic Research Center (WARC), located in Lafayette, Louisiana, has a requirement for the deployment of a portable dual-polarization weather Doppler radar unit in South Texas to continuously collect data on flying animals and targets in the atmosphere. The radars will need to be capable of at least 90 consecutive days of deployment. The data from the deployments will need to be delivered to the USGS in Level II NEXRAD format after each campaign. The data will need to be congruent with prior Level II NEXRAD data collected by the University of Oklahomas Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC). The Contractor will be required to provide all personnel, equipment, tools and materials to deploy the equipment, perform the data interpretation and delivery to the USGS in the proper format.

The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541990. The size standard is $17.00 million.

Vendors who believe they can responsibly perform this requirement should submit the following information to Daniel Galvin at dgalvin@usgs.gov by the response due-date of this notice:

1. A brief (no more than three pages) capabilities statement describing their ability to meet the requirements
2. Small business status of potential offeror (8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.)
3. Point of contact information for potential offeror, sam.gov Unique Entity Identifier (UEI).
4. Any other information that will prove the potential offeror is capable of performing the required effort.


NOTE: All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary - the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Materials submitted to the Government for review will not be returned. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. This is not a request for proposals. The Government does not intend to award a contract based on responses received under this announcement.
