Description
Statement of Need Omnicell IVX Workflow and accessories Background: The Wilmington VA Medical Center (Wilmington VAMC) currently manages IV admixture record tracking (lot numbers,
expiration date and manufacturers) via Omnicell IVX Workflow. Previously handwritten records were scanned on monthly basis and electronically saved for retrieval on need basis. This was a
time-consuming process and posed a problem for any medication recall tracking. Additionally, pharmacist would enter the IV compounding area (USP 797 compounding suite) multiple times a
day to check all compounded products. With the new guidelines, reduction in traffic in the IV suite is recommended. Omnicell IVX Workflow addition is another all-in-one solution that will
be placed in the IV hoods to create a more efficient process for IV compounding. Scope of Work This requirement is for delivery of two (2) Brand Name only OMNICELL - IVX workflow
machines, one (1) IVX color label printer and one (1) IVX Zebra Barcode scanner, plus two (2) IVXCLOUD License 5yr, with total support service, that will be placed in IV compounding area.
This will facilitate a safer and more efficient process for IV compounding. Designed for easy placement within laminar airflow (LAF) hoods or isolators, brand name only OMNICELL IVX
Workflow is a compact all-in-one device that incorporates integrated barcode scanning, gravimetric or volumetric verification, advanced image recognition, photo documentation, and label
printing that will work with the Omniexplorer software already in use. Salient Characteristics: OMNICELL IVX Workflow is a compact all-in-one device that incorporates integrated barcode
scanning, gravimetric or volumetric verification, advanced image recognition, photo documentation, and label printing. It supports best practices in aseptic technique by providing
step-by-step instructions to guide technicians in preparing IV doses according to set protocols safely, accurately, and reproducibility. OMNICELL IVX Workflow leverages multi-spectral
imaging to reduce rework and optimize pharmacist time by providing consistent, clear images throughout the IV compounding process. It facilitates remote check by pharmacist thus reducing
traffic in clean room suite as recommended by new USP 797 guidelines. Performance Requirements: Omnicell IVX workflow additions will improve workflow and provide continuous monitoring of
IV admixture process. Additionally, by facilitating remote checks will reduce the traffic in IV room clean suite. Due to electronic and photo imaging capabilities this process will
eliminate manual tracking of lot numbers of all compounded products. Delivery: The procurement of brand name only OMNICELL IVX workflow machines, IVX color label printer & scanner
