Description
National Highways is considering holding a potential competition for the Roadside Diagnostic Device Toolkit and your company has been identified as a previously interested party. A
Use Case document is being prepared as material for potential interested parties. National Highways has not yet determined a budget for delivery of these requirements.
Considering all this information, please can you respond to the below Premarket Engagement timetable and indicate if you would / would not be able to participate in the event.
Your responses to the below questions will solely be used for the purposes of Premarket engagement and will not be considered in any future procurement activity.
Current Situation
The RDDT toolkit comprises Wintester and Mote tools that supports key essential maintenance and commissioning services for all Signals, Signs and Midas roadside devices. We are
intending to replace the existing toolkit with a modernised capability to be designed, developed and procured. Mote and Wintester are the only tools used for commissioning and
maintenance work of Message Signs and Signals and Midas. Without these essential tools all new schemes including RIS works will be significantly delayed and maintenance works
impacted.
The Wintester and Mote tools reduce complex, specialist site works by simple site automated processes for testing of Roadside Technology. This process reduces staff demand, site
travel, traffic management and, importantly time spent travelling and working on site.
The current toolkit requires a refresh, with a modern, stable platform and easy to use intuitive applications with minimal need for training. The tests will be applicable for
commissioning works and diagnostics relevant in determining specific faults within the devices.
The aim is to reduce roadside attendance to a minimum to improve safety and wellbeing for our colleagues and customers.
We will be holding an Industry Day to provide further details of the RDDT project and the opportunities available. The event will be held in Birmingham, further details will be
provided nearer the time.
Space will be limited to no more than one representatives per organisation due to the capacity of the venue we will be using. We will also provide access via Teams for people who may
not be able to attend the event in person.
To register for this event please send your expression of interest and contact details to email address : Oliver.Shiels@nationalhighways.co.uk
