Any scientific studies, research and development, materials archive, technology demonstrations, trials and engineering studies, establishing new capabilities (design, construction, and installation of equipment), operation of NDA Group equipment, treatment of material and/or waste, analytical services, and managing of Universities contributions to the NDA mission that requires or offers the use of existing NNL UK facilities on either the Springfields or Sellafield Sites (and Workington facility where the inactive trials supports the later active work in the NNL operated active facilities) that are facilities in respect of which NNL has exclusive occupancy rights and including work of a high security nature.

IV.1) Description

IV.1.1) Type of procedure

The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the Directive

Explanation:

The requirements for this Framework require a UK Laboratory facility and the specialist skills and resources of the National Nuclear Laboratory, the Framework has been developed in line with these requirements in mind. Powders samples may be required for testing and are located at Sellafield Limited, and the NNL’s Central Laboratory facility on the site is the only location where appropriate samples can be obtained. NDA will engage NNL for the Laboratory Related and Research and Experimental Services. <br/><br/>NNL are the sole operators in the Central Lab and have the expertise to complete requirements under this Framework.
