NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (the commissioner) intends to undertake a procurement process for a Mental Health Conveyance Response Vehicle Service (CRV). The purpose of this service is to provide safe and effective secure transport for individuals, with mental health needs and a sitting staff service for patients during detention or stay in an acute hospital accident emergency department (A&E). This service will not include transport of individuals with mental health needs where secure transport is not required as this is provided by existing patient transport service provisions. The commissioner has published this Prior Information Notice to support market engagement only at this stage. It is the current intention of the commissioners to procure the service and appoint a provider to deliver the service covering the Kent and Medway region.
