The national strategy outlines two principal objectives: to reduce the suicide rate in the general population and provide better information and support for those bereaved or affected by suicide.Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care System (ICS) area is one of eight areas previously prioritised by NHS England to receive transformation funding for suicide prevention activities, as part of the National Suicide Prevention Programme. The county’s Suicide Prevention Strategy 2021-2026 aims to reduce the suicide rate across Norfolk and Waveney to as close to zero as possible.The service will deliver localised suicide bereavement resources including an intensive support offer immediately after a suspected suicide |

II.1.4) Short descriptionNorfolk County Council is seeking to procure a service which is aimed at meeting two principal objectives within the National strategy: to reduce the suicide rate in the general population and provide better information and support for those bereaved or affected by suicide. The procurement will be delivering against Public Health and the National strategy for Suicide Prevention priorities with agreed targets and deliverables. It is important to support individuals, families and communities who have been affected by suicide. For this ‘postvention’ element of our work, we want to improve the way that we support people across Norfolk who have been bereaved or directly affected by suicide, with timely support and information. The delivery partner will support the postvention activities developed by, with, or for people who have been bereaved by suicide, to support their recovery and to prevent adverse outcomes, including suicide and suicidal ideation.
