1.The Government of Uganda represented by National Forestry Authority has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of Investing in Forests and Protected Areas for Climate Smart Development Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Design, Supply and Construction of 300m Board Walk, Bird Hides, Jetty Docking Area, a Picnic Site and Eco Gates.
2.The National Forestry Authority intends to initially select Applicants for Design, Supply and Construction of 300M Board Walk, Bird Hides, Jetty Docking Area, a Picnic Site and Eco gates. The
objective of the assignment is to;
a) Prepare Architectural and Engineering Designs, Technical specifications, Costed Bills of Quantities, Environmental and Social Due Diligence and Construction of Picnic Site plus Jetty Docking
Area in Kasyoha – Kitomi Central Forest Reserve.
b) Prepare Architectural and Engineering Designs, Technical Specifications, Costed Bills of Quantities, Environmental and Social Due Diligence and Construction of Bird Hides in Budongo and
Echuya Central Forest Reserves.
c) Preparation of Architectural and Engineering Designs, technical specifications, Costed Bills of Quantities, Environmental and Social Due Diligence and Construction of a 300m boardwalk in
Echuya Central Forest.
It is expected that the Request for Proposals will be made in March, 2025.
3. Initial Selection will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016 updated September 2023 (“Procurement Regulations”) and is open to all eligible Applicants as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
4. Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from the National Forestry Authority, Procurement and Disposal Unit and inspect the initial selection documents during office hours from 08:30a.m to 05: 00p.m (Monday to Friday) at the address indicated in No. 8.
5. A complete set of Initial Selection documents in English may be purchased by interested Applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Ugx 100,000 (Uganda Shillings One Hundred Thousand Only). The method of payment will be by Bank Payment Advice Form obtainable from National Forestry Authority.
6.The document will be delivered to address indicated in No. 8 on or before at 11:00 a.m. (Local time) on or before 20th January, 2025. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted.
7. Applications for Initial Selection should be submitted in clearly marked envelopes and delivered to the address below by 11:00am on 20th January, 2025. Late applications may be
rejected.
