The Government of Tonga has secured financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Tongafish to Sustainable Oceans Project. The project development objective is to improve management of selected fisheries and aquaculture in Tonga.

The Ministry of Fisheries is the Implementing Agency for the Tongafish Pathway to Sustainable Oceans Project and is responsible for the achievement of the Project Development Objective and the implementing of works and securing services and goods in order to effectively and efficiently implement the Project.

The Ministry of Fisheries seeks consulting services to review all economic data collection, analysis and reporting activities aiming to develop improved economic model and statistical system for the Ministry.

The position will work against an activity deliverable schedule for the assignment up to 8 months.

The advertised position is now available and applications are sought from suitably qualified candidates based on the selection criteria expressed in the Terms of Reference (TOR) below.

The Ministry of Fisheries now invites eligible individuals (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants must provide:

• A cover letter indicating your interest in this assignment;
• Curriculum Vitae to demonstrate that you meet the minimum requirements with three (3) referees and their contact details; and
• Statement addressing the selection criteria in the Terms of Reference.

Selection Criteria

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraphs 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, Fourth Edition, November 2020 (“the Regulations”) (link here), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
