DODOMA INTEGRATED AND SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT (DIST)

PROJECT ID. P176623

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has applied for financing in the amount equivalent of US$ 200 million from the World Bank towards the cost of the Dodoma Integrated and Sustainable Transport (DIST) Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds for payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this Project.

The principal objective of the Project is to to ensure safe and sustainable connectivity for transport users in Dodoma city and enhance institutional capacity in the urban transport sector in Tanzania.

The Project will include, among others, the following main components:

Civil Works

Upgrading of Chamwino - Dodoma Road Section to six (6) - Lanes Dual Carriageway (32Km) under Design and Build contract, and

Consultancy Services

Consultancy Services for Review of the Design, Construction Supervision and Management of Works Contract for Upgrading of Morogoro - Dodoma Road to 6-Lanes Dual Carriageway, Package 1: Chamwino - Dodoma Section (32km) under Design and Build form of Contract.

Procurement of Works, Goods, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services Contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” Fifth Edition September 2023 (“Procurement Regulations”) and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Regulations. After the Project negotiations, the World Bank shall arrange the publication, on its external website, of the agreed initial procurement plan and all subsequent updates once it has provided a no objection.

Specific Procurement Notices (SPN) for Contracts subject to open International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures and for Contracts for Consultancy Services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business online, dgMarket and in local newspapers.

Invitation to submit Proposals from Proposers or contractors will be required for Upgrading of Chamwino- Dodoma Road Section to 6 Lanes Dual Carriageway (32Km) under Design and Build contract.
