PROCUREMENT NOTICE

Construction of Processing Centres with Machinery Parking for Banana Cluster in

Malayarkattu in Batticaloa District, Eastern Province

• The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has received a Credit from the International Development Association (IDA) in various currencies equivalent to US$ 58.630 Million towards the cost of the Agriculture Sector Modernization Project of the Ministry of Agriculture and it intends to apply portion of the proceeds of this credit to eligible payments under the Contract for the following works as described in the table below.
• Chairman, Project Procurement Committee, Agriculture Sector Modernization Project invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the following works as described in the table below.

• Bidders are allowed to quote for the above work with Bid Security amount mentioned above and the validity period up to 04.04.2023. One bidder is allowed to quote only one bid for each contract. To be eligible for contract award, the successful bidder shall not have been blacklisted and shall have been registered in the field of respective construction for the grade mentioned in the table above with the Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA)
• Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedure approved by the World Bank.
• Qualification requirements are indicated in section 4 of the Bidding document. Additional details are provided in the Schedule (Section5) of the bidding document.
• Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Project Director, Project Management Unit, Agriculture Sector Modernization Project (T.P Nos: 071-4881265 / 0779609501, 0112877559 / 0113651102) and inspect the bidding documents at the same place on any working days from 9:00 Hrs. to 15:00 Hrs during 20th March 2024 to 10th April 2024.

• Pre-Bid meeting will be held on 01st April 2024 at 10.30 am at the ASM Project Office, No-123/2, Pannipitiya Road, Battaramulla.

• Bid shall be valid up to 08.08.2024
• Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid security as per the information given in the Table. The Bid Security should be obtained from any commercial banks recognized by Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
• A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the Project Director, Project Management Unit, Agriculture Sector Modernization Project, No-123/2, Pannipitiya Road, Battaramulla from from 9:00 Hrs. to 15:00 Hrs during 20th March 2024 to 10th April 2024. upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs. 25,000.00 each. The method of payment should be by cash.
• Bids must be delivered to the Project Director, Agriculture Sector Modernization Project, No-123/2, Pannipitiya Road, Battaramulla on or before 15:00 Hrs. on 10th April 2024. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will not be accepted. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at the mentioned address at 15:00 Hrs on 10.04.2024
• Complete bids should be separately forwarded in two copies as the original and the duplicate. The original and the duplicate should be enclosed separately and marked as the ‘original’ and ‘duplicate’ respectively in sealed envelope. Both envelopes enclosed in a sealed single envelope and marked contract number and name of the contract on top left-hand corner of the envelope.
