Quotations are hereby invited for the provision of fire watchers for the period of one (1) month for a period of one (1) month. Scope of Work: • The fire watchers will be stationed at various key points along the conveyor belts; • Fire watchers will monitor conveyor belts and surrounding areas during and after any operational activities that present fire risk; • Fire watchers will be deployed on a 24-hour basis, following the terminal"s operational schedules to provide uninterrupted coverage; • The team must be capable of responding to fire alarms and emergencies within a specified time frame of 5 minutes from the alert; • Fire watchers must undergo periodic training and participate in safety drills to stay prepared for different scenarios such as industrial fires, chemical spills or structural fires; • Fire watchers will have to identify fire hazards such as the accumulation of flammable materials, overheating of equipment, or malfunctioning systems along the conveyor belts; • In the event of a fire, fire watchers must initiate emergency procedures, control the fire, protect lives and property. Maintain continuous communication with operational teams to ensure that any potential risks are identified early; • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including wearing appropriate PPE and following company safety protocols during fire watch duties; • After completion of any operation, especially high-risk operation, the fire watchers must continue monitoring for at least 30 minutes to ensure no residual fire risk remains; • Report any flammable materials that might be an ignition source of fire; • Maintain constant means of communication; • Fire watchers must be prepared to operate fire extinguishers, hydrants, fixed monitors and hose carts at any time.
