Re-Advertisement: Quotations are hereby invited from service providers for the repairs to Dolphin and Seal Stadium structures. Scope: Inspection Scope: 1. Pre-Inspection Preparation: • Review relevant standards and codes (e.g., SANS, ISO, BS, or applicable project standards); • Prepare inspection checklists and measuring tools as required (e.g., measuring tapes, spirit levels, ultrasonic thickness gauges, torque wrenches); • Ensure that all work at height requirements is in place and to be adhered to. 2. On-Site Structural Inspection (But not limited to): • Structural Alignment & Dimensions: - Check verticality, plumbness, and alignment of columns, beams, and bracing. • Connections & Fasteners: - Inspect bolted connections for wear and tear and corrosion and or paint failure. - Verify weld quality (visual inspection for cracks, porosity, undercut, or incomplete fusion). • Structural Components: - Inspect all primary members (columns, beams, trusses) for damage, deformation, corrosion, or fabrication defects; - Inspect secondary members (purlins, girts, bracings) for correct installation and alignment and for damage, deformation, corrosion, or fabrication defects; • Surface Protection: - Check paint or galvanizing for coverage, thickness, and damage; - Identify areas of rust, peeling, or coating failure. • Load-Bearing & Support Conditions: - Verify bearing plates, anchor bolts, and grouting for correct installation; - Check that base plates are level and correctly seated. • Temporary & Safety Provisions: - Ensure temporary supports or scaffolding are safe and adequate during inspection; - Verify that lifting points and hoisting equipment are properly used.
