The client hereby calls for proposals from duly accredited entities with recognised learning material and operating in the construction and the Built Environment, as well as Built Environment industry bodies who desire to develop/co-develop skills programmes that prioritise the build-related Ceramic products manufacturing and Smart Materials Manufacturing (C-SMM) in line with green and sustainability agenda: 2024/25 Special Project Discretionary Grant Funding Window. The (C-SMM) in the built environment encompasses the Alternative Building Materials/Technologies (ABTs), prefabs, modular blocks, etc. The proposals are to be for the development/advancing of C-SMM skits programmes that identify and address critical skills gaps in Ceramics and Smart Materials Manufacturing, whilst at the same time contributes to job creations in the construction sector from entry skills to advanced levels. Applicants for the C-SMM should be willing to work with the client to develop formal qualifications or modules to be registered on the relevant NQF level from this initiative; and consider the application of technology on workforce competencies in line with the CETA Strategy and thus enabling credible contribution to Qualifications Development and advancing preparedness for the jobs of the future.
