Scope of work: The appointed professionals will be responsible for the following: Building assessment and feasibility study of the refurbishment of the current labs: 1. These investigations must be undertaken in the very early stage of a project to assess whether the refurbishment is viable in the building and the current lab floor. 2. Provide a detailed report justifying the feasibility or incapability of the building to accommodate the refurbishment. Preliminary Design Phase: • Site assessment & consultation with the client; • Develop conceptual designs based on the proposed objectives listed for respective lab functionality rooms; • Provide draft 3D visualization. Detailed Design & Documentation Phase: Prepare full architectural drawings, including: • Proposed Site floor site layout plan; • Floor plans (all rooms); • Elevations & cross-sections; • Roof structure & ventilation designs; • Specify energy-efficient materials & construction techniques; • Ensure compliance with South African National Standards (SANS) & local bylaws.
