Quotations are hereby invited from approved service providers to provide the following: Supply ten (10) homestead lightning conductors. The District Disaster Management Centre hereby requests the supply and installation of ten (10) homestead lightning conductors. Specifications: 1. Installation of ten (10) lightning conductors. 2. Must protect traditional rural homestead with a combination of structures (thatched huts, corrugated iron, and concrete roof tiles). 3. Must cover at least a radius ± 20m. 4. Height to protect ± 7 houses. 5. One (1) meter of the galvanized pipe shall be underground (depth). 6. Pipes should be galvanized steel. 7. The copper wire and lightning spikes should be copper plated not imitations. 8. The whole mast must be maintenance free. 9. Pipes must be stamped firm and straight utilizing correct tools. 10. Pipes must also be concreted to the ground utilizing concrete. 11. Corrosion resistant paint should be used to the portion of the pipe underground. 12. Galvanized steel pipe conduit for copper endpoint should be underground. 13. The Service Provider will be required to conduct a soil sensitivity test. (ЮАР - Тендер #52956350)
