31-08-2023 Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd (hereinafter “Eskom”) invites you to a submit for the following: Provision of coal plant maintenance at Arnot Power Station for the period of five years. Scope of works: • Arnot Power Station has six coal fired units. The capacity of the units is 370MW generated. The total burn plan is in the region of 22 000 tons per day with six units on load and minimum load losses; • Currently the coal supplied to the staithes is made up of the reclaim coal from the Arnot Power Station coal stockyard offloaded by Coal trucks from various mines. The A and B conveyor systems are used, Reclaim conveyor 1 and reclaim conveyor 2. In future there will also be a supply from the mine via conveyor belts as well as by rail; • The intent of this contract is the overall maintenance of the conveyors from 2A & B tail end pulley up to the over Staithe conveyors of Staithe 1 to 5, and conveyor splicing. Coal Handling: Maintenance (Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Civil) of all the conveyors: Reclaim belts inclusive of reclaim 1, 2, belt 2A/B, 3A/B, 4A/B, 5A/B, 6A/B, 7A/B, 17, 18, 19B/C 20, Staithe bypass and all its belts. Buffalo (Mobile) Feeder is also included: • All sump pumps and related equipment; • Maintenance of import coal feeders and/or conveyors; • Maintenance of all the dust suppression systems; • Maintenance of structures, machinery, apparatus (motors, switchgear, isolators, feeders or any other high voltage plant) and equipment consists of Monitoring, plant checks, cleaning, inspections, investigation, scope compilation, reparations, servicing, testing and recording of the Mechanical, electrical, Instrumentation, Civil’s as per the Works Information: a. Reclaim belts inclusive of reclaim 1, 2, belt 18, 20, and 21A, B & C and 4C including the tripper car on belt 18 and stack out conveyor; b. All infrastructures of the Overland conveyors from 2A and B tail end pulleys within Arnot Opco perimeter fence to the head pulleys of the over Staithe conveyors on staithes 1 to 5 and includes 2A & 2B transfer house, including the structure up to the boundary fence. The Contractor maintains conveyors 2A & B inclusive of tail end pulleys up to head pulleys of 12 A & B. and all infrastructure, controls and plant on an as and when required bases. The Contractor maintains all 380v boards and switchgears, including the substation boards 9 and 10 supplying conveyor 1A and 1B and the Employer will maintain the 11 kV supply; c. Staithe Bypass conveyors up to and including the chutes at the station incline belts north and south; d. All sump pumps and related equipment including the sub-surface drains sumps and pumps with electrical and instrumentation behind Staithe 5 and 4; e. Maintenance of the Staithe 1 to 5. electrical, conveyor structures, grizzly bar’s and mechanical infrastructure and excludes the civil structures; f. Maintenance of 5A and 5B conveyor magnets and scheduled testing as per PM; g. Hoists (motorised lifting equipment) on 7B and 12 B; h. Maintains and load tests once a year all lifting crawl beams and submits the documentation to Eskom Planning Department for record keeping. Limits between Arnot Coal Stockyard: • Tail pulley of reclaim 1 to the head pulley of conveyor belt 19 on top of Staithe 3 & 4; • Tail pulley of reclaim conveyor 2 and head pulley of conveyor belt 18; • Tail pulley of conv 2A/B up to tail pulley of conv 4A/B; • Belt 20,21A & B and 4A/B: - In loading facility; - Feeder; - Conveyor in totality; - Sump pumps; - 4A/B Tail end chute; - 4A/B Head chute with flopper; - MCC - (from the conveyor board supply); - Electrical and Control and Instrumentation. • Reclaim 1 and 19 Conveyor: - Loading Chute; - Conveyor in totality; - Transfer house 5A & B; - Chute from 19 onto 5A & B; - Electrical and Control and Instrumentation. • Reclaim 2 and Conveyor 18: - Total reclaim 2 Conveyors onto belt 18; - Loading chutes; - Conveyor 18 in totality; - Electrical and Control and Instrumentation; - MCC-(From the Conveyor board supply). • Control Room: - Control room electrical and instrumentation maintenance and operations; - Over Staithes. .
